Pronounced “So-Sid”, this little bugger was found in the basement of a vacation home. …

Because the owners spent little time at this place (4x per year), they thought bugs would only visit occasionally.  That often turns out to be a dangerous assumption.  In this case, the homeowners couldn’t even see the bug PPC photographed using their microscope.  There were thousands of these, the size of one of two ink lines used to mark a millimeter (were about 1/10 of a mm !).  We believe this particular insect may have been related to so-called “book lice”, and with so many of them in the house, it is no wonder guests and friends were getting mystery itches.  A thorough treatment of the home completely destroyed them, with followup services every quarter to stop them from gaining a foothold again.  Being a seasoned expert, PPC also suggested a dehumidifer to lower the moisture source for the little insects, but the homeowners were so satisifed with the original service they never bothered.  An important lesson here is that bugs, mice, termites, and wild animals don’t care how much time you spend at your home or office, and they don’t care whether “you see anything or not”.  They are content to live right around you without you even knowing.  Often these guys take up residence, then when you come back to your stored items or belongings for the season, you discover a real mess, costing a lot more in time and money than simple prevention by PPC.  Years of experience give PPC “Eagle Eyes” to uncover these silent terrors, big or small, lurking in your homes, offices, sheds, or storage units.
